ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO B.ED. COURSE

MODALITIES OF ADMISSION:
  • Eligible candidates have to fill up the application form of the course as notified by Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (Erstwhile The West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Education Planning and Administration) within the stipulated dates.

  • Admission programme is regulated by the university centrally and is made in order of merit on the basis of scores obtained by the applicant.

  • The University provides the list of selected candidates for admission of the course under the Institution. Duration of the course in of 2 Years.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
  • Necessary fee as fixed by the University is required to be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission. Fees are to be submitted in instalments.

  • Enrolment and registration under the University is made as per University Rules.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree (50% in Bachelor’s Degree means 50% marks in aggregate i.e. 50% of total marks of Honours Subject + Elective Subject) and / or in the Master’s Degree in Science / Social Science / Humanities / Commerce, or Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with Specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks, or any other Qualification equivalent thereto, be eligible for application. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC, ST and PWD (Persons with Disabilities) Categories.

For Deputed Candidates:

Applicants deputed by School must submit an attested copy of M.C./ S.M.C resolution recording the approval of Service in regard to his/her service with the form.

Following additional documents are required to be submitted positively on the day of joining the B.Ed. programmes in institutions under the University:

  1. Release order from the Headmaster / Headmistress.

  2. Attested copy of M.C. resolution with regards to his/her deputation, countersigned by D. I. of Schools (Secondary).

  3. Certificate from Competent Authority whether the candidate teaches in Class VI or above.

  4. Three copies of passport size photographs of the applicant.

  5. Deputation form duly filled in (available from the Institution after admission)

  6. A certificate with the following information is to be submitted from the Secretary or Headmaster/Headmistress (where he/she is serving) and counter signed by the D.I. of Schools of the District concerned:

  • Certified that the School is in receipt of aid on full/ deficit/ lump sum grant basis or that school in unaided or salary deficit scheme one.

  • Certified that she/he is duly approved teacher.

  • Certified that she/he is being deputed by the school for undergoing two year B.Ed. Courses

Other Reservations:

The reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC & PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules the Central Government/ State Government, whichever is applicable.

Admission & Intake:

Admission shall be made through online counselling on merit basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the State and Government/ U.T. Administration and the University. Durgapur B.Ed. College (A Unit of Techno India Group) runs with one basic unit of 50 students. There shall not be more than twenty five students per teacher for a school subject for methods, courses and other practical activities of the programme to facilitate participatory teaching and learning.
